Last week, 39% of you voted for ‘I have to do it all myself’ I did too.The question was: : What's a belief you're actively challenging this week? The options:- I have to do it all myself.- Not busy = Not productive.- Asking = Weak- My needs come last.

I feel the same.So how to move forward from that? Because I know that if I continue to think like that, I’ll just end up burned out and part of this ‘Elite 2025 Burnout Club’, which I obviously don’t want. The boundary is very thin and can easily be crossed if you don’t prioritize your needs.Anyone can feel burned out, and it doesn’t always show in a work environment. Look at the news, how our planet is burning, your kids who require your full attention, your best friend who just learned she has breast cancer, LinkedIn lost in the AI limbo…So how can we do better? How can we ask for help and not feel like a burden again? One thing Denise and I discussed: maybe we ask the wrong person. But I wonder if the issue is actually about how we communicate our needs. And so we can attract the right people to help us.And I know I've asked for help at the worst time - when already at full speed on a project, my request assuming others could read my mind.So I'm trying something new. What if, from now on, before I start a project, I:❒ Acknowledge what future help I might need and when.❒ Write down a list of people who could help me (don't overthink it).❒ Know my weakness - be honest!❒ Be clear on expectations from both sides.❒ Specify what I can offer (money, partnership, barter, free ticket for 'The Boy Is Mine' tour...).I think as a millennial woman, I learned that I had to be strong, smart, capable, able to do it all and to be proud of it. But that's not how it works. Burnout is real. We are stronger working together and supporting each other's light. 💛 I invite you to reflect on how you could help someone else today who does not have the same privilege as you. The real world, out of your screen, isn't going well. We need each other more than ever! ❣
With gratitude,Nina
